I painted this from a photograph my Grandmother took while on a mission for the LDS Church in Nigeria. The baptism shown took place on 4 March 1979 near the village of Ikot Eyo, Cross River State in Nigeria. Sixty Seven people were baptized that day by my Grandfather. I began the painting when my Grandfather became ill and finished it shortly after he died.
